Set up once - forget forever

Three things, then drive.

No browser extension, no overlay, no complex configuration. The companion reads finished laps from your iRacing session and posts them. That's it.
01
Download the companion
A 20 MB tray app for Windows 10/11. Auto-starts with your PC. Auto-updates from GitHub Releases. No installer popup spam.
LapBattleCompanion.exe - 20 MB
02
Connect your account
Sign up at web.lapbattle.app, copy your token from Settings, paste it into the companion. One token, one PC, one time.
secure - revocable
03
Drive and compete
Every completed lap is captured - Test, Practice, Qualify, Race. New best laps appear on your friends’ leaderboards instantly. Argue about setups.
Auto - zero clicks
What you get

Built for racers who read timing screens for fun.

Data density without the bloat. Every lap is logged with the context that actually matters when you're arguing about who's faster.
Every session type
Test Drive, open practice, qualifying, and race. Filter what gets uploaded per session type if you want to keep your warm-up laps private.
incl. Test Drive - the killer feature
Real conditions
Air temp. Track temp. Fuel level at lap completion. Setup name. Receipts for every fast lap - and every excuse.
air - track - fuel - setup
Friend-only
No public profile, no global leaderboards, no ranked drama. Only accepted friends see your laps. Your group, your rules.
invite-only - always
Instant best laps
Cross the line, the row updates. Best lap per track + car combo is computed live - no overnight batch jobs, no waiting for a sync.
instant update - no waiting
Head-to-head
Pick a friend, pick a combo, get a sector-by-sector breakdown. Find out where you’re losing time - or where you’re robbing them blind.
sector deltas - bragging rights
Full history
Every lap you’ve ever set, filterable by track / car / session. Your personal best progression over months, not just sessions.
unlimited retention
Zero overhead
Less than 0.3% CPU while you drive. No overlay, no DLL injection. Uses iRacing’s own SDK.
~0.3% CPU - ~20 MB RAM
Open source
Everything is open source. Audit the wire format, host your own backend, fork it. The whole thing is on GitHub.

access
One token per PC
Found in Settings → Companion token on the web app. Treat it like a password - anyone with it can submit laps under your account. You can regenerate at any time.
A note on test drive
Yes - Test Drive counts.
iRacing's own stats ignore Test Drive sessions. Lap Battle doesn't. If you grind a track alone at midnight, your lap still hits the board the next morning. That's the whole point.
heads up
Windows only - for now.
iRacing only runs on Windows, so the companion does too. Support for other systems will be added as soon as iRacing supports them.
Free - Fast - Easy

The fast lap
means nothing
until someone
sees it.

Set up the companion in two minutes. Get your friends to do the same. Argue about setups for the rest of the season.
